24pc Cutlery Set in Wood Block
I didn’t realize how old my set of kitchen knives in wood block are. Of course I have purchased other knives (love my Santoku knives) that I just keep in a drawer, but I like the convenience of having the knives in view and easily accessible when I’m cooking. When I was offered a chance to review this huge set of knives with a wood block I was very eager to try some new knives and replace my old ones.
You Get What You Pay For
On the box it says this set is a $115.00 USD open stock value, but on Amazon they sell for $21.52 USD. Oh boy would I be upset if I paid anything close to that $115.00 price. I thought 24 pieces and a wood block what a great deal. Well, unfortunately, that old saying “you get what you pay for” IS true.
The wood block is unfinished and rough. Also, I think It’s a generic wood block and not made specifically for this set because the knives fit a little weird, and it’s hard to tell what spot the knife goes in. There are not enough spaces to put all the knives either.
The knife blades are made out of stainless steel. I think they are a little too easy to bend. As for the diamond cut blades, they are not much sharper than my old set of knives. The diamond cut on the blades is a little rough too.
The polypropylene handles are fused to the blades creating one piece. The knives and blades are dishwasher safe.
Budget Friendly Cutlery Set
With 24 pieces you do get a large variety of knives plus kitten scissors, cheese knife and pizza cutter. The scissors don’t come apart for cleaning. For someone on a budget, maybe moving out for the first time, and needs a complete set of kitchen knives, this set could be for you. I’m not sure how long this set will last, but until you can afford a good cutlery set, at least you wold have knives. I do like the big cleaver. I have never used one before. It does feel different that a regular chef’s knife but it’s kind of fun to use.

I give this set 3 out of 5 stars because the set is OK. For someone looking for a cheap cutlery set that has tons of pieces, this set could be what you are looking for.
